Welcome to the Glenore Grove Scout Group!
Joining a scout group movement is not just for the child or young adult however is a whole family commitment. The experience and friendships gained by joining the scouting movement can change your life for the better! Here a few commitments required for our group:
Joeys – Every Wednesday from 5.00pm to 6.00pm
Cubs – Every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Scouts – Every Friday from 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Venturers – Every Friday from 6.00pm to 8.00pm
The Glenore Grove Scout Group subscription fees “subs” are $10 per week per member during school terms only. Should a member not attend a section meeting subs are still required to be paid.
Subs can be paid weekly, term or year by cash on a section meeting night. If you would prefer to pay subs by direct deposit, please contact our Group Leader or Group Treasurer.
If a members fees are 3 weeks in arrears, this will result in the member being unable to attend section or group activities.
The $10 subs are broken down into:
- $5 towards your child’s membership for next year
- $3 towards the Group to pay for insurance, building improvements, group activities, equipment etc
- $2 towards your child’s section to pay for training, resources for activities etc
Each child or young adult is required to pay membership fees to Scouts Queensland Branch upon joining the group and on renewal of their membership. The cost of membership varies throughout the year financial year (April/March) depending on when the child/young adult commenced. The Group Leader will advise the exact cost when completing membership forms.
The renewal of membership is paid each week through payment of subs. If you’re subs are paid on time there will be no additional cost to families each year.
For families who have more than one member in scouts will receive a family concession on renewal of their membership. Please discuss further with our Group Leader.

Each member is required to wear the scouting uniform. The Scout uniform is a symbol of an organisation with high ideals and a certain self-discipline. The uniform is easily identified within the community.
The cost of a members uniform is approximately $75 and consists of:
- Pants (Beige/tan)

Parent support is required at times. Parents can be asked to assist with section activities, group committee fundraising events, transportation to and from excursions and working bees.
